Sofa Basics + Uses of 2 Seater Sofas
There are many ways to achieving a cozy and relaxing atmosphere in any living room. Even small apartments that have very limited floor area to work with can be significantly improved with prudent allocation of space.
Two seater sofas are nifty little pieces of furniture simply because they complete compact living rooms. In my small apartment I have a black 2 seater leather sofa which I have complemented with a nice glass center table placed on top of on one of two purple area rugs that I got from RugStudio which is a well-known producer or high quality rugs.
I really believe that compact sofas and area rugs can always be good elements in any interior design plan. Even if you have a place with more than adequate amount of floor space, you can always use 2 seater sofas to complement or spruce up your couch set or use them to fill an empty corner that would otherwise be a lonely part of the house without compact sofas that you can position on them.
Area rugs, likewise, will always be a welcome decorating and functional living room piece to any room of the house. It is however important to make sure that you know how to choose the right one for your existing room theme. If you have an interior designer, it might be good idea to consult him/her on how to incorporate area rugs to the overall design. If you are on a DIY mission, you need to consider the following tips in buying a rug for ornamental purposes:
- Make sure that you get your measurements right. You will need to know how to operate a tape measure to be able to do it right. Small to mid-sized rugs measure 2×3 (ft) to 4×6 while large ones measure 6×9 to 12×15 (ft).
- Make sure that you consider where you will be placing the rugs before buying. If you are going to put them under a couch or sofa, a coffee table or any piece of furniture, you need to make sure that they complement the design and color (and adequately sized… see number 1). A mismatch would be unfavorable. If you plan on putting them by the door, you will need to see if the door has enough clearance to allow the rug underneath. You will also need to look out for floor vents and electrical outlets. Never place them on top of those.
- Make sure that the rugs will not trip or cause someone to slip. You could use a non-slip rug pads underneath the rugs so it will not cause any slipping accident. Rug pads also help prolong the life of the rug because they protect the rug from too much wear and tear.

A two seater sofa is not just a functional piece of furniture but can also serve as a style piece which can add an extra oomph into a stylish interior. It can be installed in any location of a big house or office premises as a seat-anyone couch that can also add a great finish to the room’s overall design.
But the best use for a 2 seater sofa is still for what it was invented for anyway— as comfortable seating furniture. Also called a loveseat sofa, a two seater sofa is also a great TV watching couch that anyone in your house, whether it be your room mate, you or some visitors, will enjoy thoroughly.
